Design of a composting plant in the city of Lamphun (Thailand)

Abstract

The target of the Asia Urbs Project AIntegrated Urban Environmental Management Plan in the city of Lamphun, ThailandA, is the design of an environmental management plan for the city of Lamphun (MOL).

Next to the survey of other environmental topics such as water and waste water management, energy supply, transport and infrastructure, the waste management is an important part of this plan. One main focus of this paper is the description of the existing situation of the composting plant in Lamphun, the construction of test windrows and the evaluation of the analysis of the compost material. Based on these results ideas for the improvement of the new composting plant are given.

Thereby the construction of the new area for composting and the handling with the organic material in Lamphun is explained.
